I recently asked this question to a successful CEO and Franchise Founder on an interview on The Streetwise Podcast.

The answer was super simple.

He claimed that his super power was the ability to solve problems and connect with other people.

When I dug a little deeper I found a couple more:

+1 He was NOT afraid of conflict or rejection

+2 He had extremely high emotional intelligence.

When asked how he curated this super power, his answer struck what I believe would be a chord with most of us...

He mastered the craft of solving problems and connecting with people after YEARS of experiencing failure and rejection!

Turns out, some of the biggest pain points and seasons of pain in our lives are the biggest opportunities to level up.

When you are feeling LOST on the journey remember the following steps:

Lean into the Specific Pain Point.

Similar to rolling out an aching muscle, the pain is where the tension resides. Deep within the tension, underneath the scar tissue is the solutions. Elephants in the room don't just disappear if we ignore them, THEY NEED TO BE ADDRESSED.

Observe your Surroundings.

This usually works the best when we take a step back and breathe. If a child gets lost in a busy crowd, it's best to slowly take backward steps as you move your head on a swivel in order to gain a wider scoop with increased peripheral vision. Entrepreneurs and leaders get in the most trouble when they are looking at issues with a "small window" mindset when It's our JOB to see the bigger picture.

Seek Mentorship and Guidance

Mentors are individuals that can speak INTO you and your current situation in order to provide practical insight and guidance based on experience and wisdom they have previously gained in the area you are currently struggling in. Mentorship relationship don't need to be in place forever. Seasons change and so do our needs from the mentors in our life. In order to truly receive the most value out the relationship, it should be mutually beneficial. Seek to add value to the ones speaking into you and act on the advice you are given.

Take Action NOW

The only difference between who you are today and who you will be 10 years from now are the people you meet, the places you go, and the books you read. This can be related to the rooms you get into, the initiatives you prioritize, and the growth opportunities you take! Without the action necessary to initial change, NOTHING is going to happen. It is up to YOU to take the first step off of ZERO and do the work necessary to impact your life and add value into your community.

By learning how to respond in times of turmoil, we can be better equipped to turn the losses and failures into lessons

We often experience the most pain right before we experience a big LEVEL UP.

Don't be afraid to lean into the pain point. Observe opportunities in your environment that you can capitalize on. Seek guidance from someone who has walked down your path before. Take ACTION.

Don't wait until tomorrow to build your future.

START TODAY.
